We are searching for a female dancer with strong contemporary background who is interseted in exploring and working with a small team to discover how dance can induce sleep and hypnosis. We want to highlight the qualities of minimal and athletic actions together, and will be working side-by-side with motion-capture technology in the studio. The dancer should be open to exploring new definitions, and the probably unusual work environments alongside other disciplines. Recent graduates are also open to apply.
Concept Description: Sleepdancing is a collaboration between Max Levy Choreographic Works and art duo Cosa Mentale to create a new frame of digital dance through a meditative film blending choreography and digital animation as tools for guided hypnosis. Using captured physical data to transform the parameters of procedural artwork, the interplay of programmed and physical triggers establishes a blend of choreographed bodies and choreographed code.
