Discerning what is “right” or “wrong” for an artistic practice is quite difficult, when every artist comes with their own rules of what they believe to be appropriate for their work. Personal cornerstones of moral values, upbringing, education and experience that often serve as inspiration might become the very blocks that prevent us from viewing our work in ways that allow us to grow. When can fundamentalism lead the wrong way, or rebellion find new solutions? With what barometer can we discern a truly “valid” path when making our work?
In this dialogue-driven seminar, participants become the focus of their own discussion; their opinions and views become the tools to shift perspectives and find new definitions of artistic practice.
